At the age of 4 Kristen found her passion as she began her dance training in ballet at Southwest Ballet in southern California. After her family relocated to Ohio she continued her dance instruction and began studying belly dance at the age of 9 under her aunt, “Dahmia,” who was a professional Middle Eastern dance instructor. Kristen would be the third generation in her family to study belly dance. Once in high school Kristen re-enrolled in ballet at the Fairmount Fine Arts Center. While pursuing her higher education at Ashland University she decided to expand her knowledge and took hip-hop on campus. After graduation she continued to take hip hop at various studios in the greater Cleveland area. In 2010 Kristen decided to fulfill a goal she had since elementary school which was to learn how to ballroom dance. Kristen studied American Smooth and Rhythm at Fred Astaire Dance Studio, under Minas Katsantoris and at various other studios. In late 2013 she was hired as a paid salsa and bachata dancer on salsa dance nights for Nazca in Warrensville, Hts. In 2014 she was offered a job at Fred Astaire in Chagrin Falls where she began her teacher training. Kristen received her instructor certification in May of 2014 and competed in the professional division later that year. On the weekends she taught ballroom and belly dance at a Dance Studio in Sandusky, Ohio. Kristen took a short break from dancing after having her daughter in early 2015. In 2016 she returned to the dance scene and began teaching dance again at a Ballroom Studio in Beachwood, Ohio. During the course of Kristen’s dance training she has received coaching from various coaches including but not limited to Kimberly Mitchell, Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine, Susie Thompson, Susan Galinas, Lenin Guerrero-Maldonado, and Rachel & Jonathan Green. In 2018 began studying International Standard and later that year she joined the Starz family at the Twinsburg location and in May of 2019 transferred to the Westlake location.
